*The avi file is 23.7mb and I have already put it into a compressed folder by right clicking>send to>compressed (zip) folder. But after doing that, the folder size was still 23.7mb. The message attatchement limit for emails are 10MB. (Gmail, yahoo, etc.) Don't have the finances to pay for a zipping program. Please help.

Try MPEG2 compression (Quicktime MOV file.)

Use Windows Movie Maker (free on all WinXP SP2 computers) to save it as a WMV file. That will compress the size GREATLY. WMV plays on most computers, as opposed to AVI. Mess around with the options to get a smaller size.

If it is still bigger, compress it using WinZIP or windows default compression folders.

AVI files are already compressed. You could never reduce it to 10 Mb.

What you can do is upload the file to YouSendIt.com. Their limit is one gig. They will put it on their server & your friends can download it from them so the email services and their limits don't apply.

There is no charge for you send it's service. Go here to check it out - http://www.yousendit.com/

Put the zipped folder into a regular folder. Then put the regular folder into another zipped folder. Do this as much as you can.

top click and seek for an unzip determination.... if there is no longer unzip determination then you definately pick to position in some thing to unzip it , as an celebration winzip likely the perfect yet its no longer free (has 30 day free path). you could also google some free unzip classes. After that you'll then get on your records interior. Then determined if those pick to be switched over. if so then receive a video converter. Its been a lengthy time period for me yet one which i imagine works and is free is called "any video converter"

Convert it to an mpeg file. That will make it smaller than any zip program can. look for free converter software on the web.
