Good songs? whatever your band and your audience likes. You'll find that your band definitely plays some songs better than others. Stick with what you do well. You'll know which, and your audience will let you know too.
The *best* songs are songs your band writes. "Great bands don't play other people's music" I've heard it said. But you gotta wonder about that. I think most all bands at least started playing others music. That's how you get your polish. But be careful not to get stuck. Copy bands never rise above small parties and bars. But if you're happy that way, hey!

80's metal? Well, how about these:
Shout at the Devil - Motley Crue (or any song from the 80's from Motley Crue)
Drop Dead Legs from Van Halen (not exactly metal)
Round and Round from Ratt
Alone Again from Dokken
Anything from Pyromania by Def Leppard
Rock you like a hurricane from the Scorpions
Detroit Rock City from Kiss
I Dream In Infra Red - Queensryche
I could probably go on for days..

There are alot of good 80s metal songs.Do some van halen if you have a good enough guitar player.Especially try to play Eruption.Poison "Talk dirty to me" And try some motley crue songs like Girls, girls, girls, or kickstart my heart or something. But do some 70s rock too.Something like ted nugent (cat scratch fever),led zeppelin(black dog) ((just do me a favor dont try stairway to heaven)),AC/DC (highway to hell)
