First you need to give yourself a facial. Get a top of the line exfoliating and mosturizer.
Next, if you have dry skin, drink more water. If you smoke, quit smoking.
If you have dry skin, make sure you saturate your skin every nite with moisturizing cream and also before you put your makeup on. It will go on so much better. I don't recommend Mac to anyone though. Esp in the summer.
Light makeup in the Summer.
Good Luck

First do a complete facial and include a scrub. Then moisturize, use a skin polisher and then Idealist skin replenisher by Estee Lauder. Then try Mac power. That gives you a light coverage which enhances your natural beauty. Later on you may want to try the foundation also by Mac with a little power just to set. Light on the foundation as well. I think you will love it. Remember to do a facial at least once a week. If your skin needs a lot of help do it twice a week for about a month. Then one to twice there after. Use a scrub when necessary. Usually when your skin starts looking tired. Drink plenty of water everyday At least 8 glasses or more!

Start with a moisturizer (get the ones for dry skin).
Then use liquid based foundation then just brush over some loose powder. These technique will give moiture to your skin and the loose powder will give it a natural finish and not look cakey.
Lately I've been using the creme bronzers so finish with that!
Go to the counter and try this before you buy anything the same say. Give it a few hours and see how it turns out.

The first thing you need to start doing is use a facial scrub. ANY foundation is going to make you look "fake and dry" if your skin is dry. You need to scrub away dead surface cells before applying ANY type of makeup. And the less foundation you use, the better your skin will look. If you have blemishes, just dab on blemishes and pat until blended. Don't apply it to your entire face. THAT is when the face begins to look fake. And since you have dry skin, powder is unneccesary. It will only enhance a tacky appearance. A facial scrub and a daily moisturizer should fix your problem. Good luck!

Everyone is definitely right about the moisturizer; gotta have it. And exfoliate, to get rid of the dry skin. Cover Girl Aquasmooth makeup is great, it goes on creamy and dries to a powder finish, and doesn't make your skin look cakey. And it's great for summer, since it's light. Some makeups break my face out, and this one doesn't. You don't even have to use it all over your face, just dark spots under eyes, around nose, and on blemishes or marks you want to conceal. A light bronzer on cheekbones, nose, forehead and temples (DON'T overdo the bronzer) gives you a great glow. Mascara, maybe some eyeliner (apply and smudge with a Q-tip) and lip gloss, you should have a great look for summer. Also, I really like St Ives Collagen Elastin moisturizer. I know it's been around forever, and it's not expensive. Looks heavy, but it's not. And it doesn't break me out. Really good for dry skin.

be sure to exfoliate with a product made for sensitive skin and use a moisturizer (I'd recommend Philosophy's "Hope In A Jar"). i would maybe try using bare minerals foundation. it's sephora's best selleing foundation, is said to be good for sensitive skin because it's made from all natural minerals, and is recommended by the skin cancer foundation and women everywhere.
get their starter kit -($60) to try it out and return it if your unhappy. chances are that you won't. i probably see at least 2 women buy this kit everytime I got to sephora. bottom line: the stuff sells for a reason. try it!

Brown eye pencil on lower lid, (only the half of the lid furthest from your nose.) Liquid brown eyeliner on the upper lid (only on the half furthest from the nose). Keep your eyebrows perfectly shaped. Wear lip gloss, have a tanned face. A thin looking face is always best.

Liquid foundations look better on any type of skin, they blend more naturally and are translucent to let through natural skin tone.
