in 3 years. Some even 4 years. Is this actually legal?? We are all very mad about this. The company is definitely making a profit, so that is not the problem.

I know of no law that requires any employer to give out raises, though any good business does to not only reward employees for superior performance, but also so they can retain good employees.

If you have not already done so, approach your employer, armed with facts and figures and request a raise. If they decline and you don't feel their basis is legitimate, then the obvious course of action is to start seeking employment at a company that will appreciate having a dedicated, long-term employee like yourself. It is foolish to remain loyal to a company that is not loyal to you.

There is no legal requirement to give raises. In fact, he can legally reduce your wage if he chooses to. If it makes you all so mad, why don't you quit and find another job? I suspect it's because the company isn't doing well. I'm an accountant and I see the books, and contrary to many employees opinion, many companies are just hanging on for dear life!

Ask him about your performance and if you can have a raise.

If you chose to ask in writing date it and make a copy.

If it's his company find out what their policy is.
Look over your contract when you started working there.
If it's not his company then find out who else you can ask this very important question to.
Ask for a letter of recommendation before giving your two weeks notice if it comes to that....

Call a local union and find out about your rights before doing anything too drastic.

if they are merit raises then your employer can give them out as they see fit. I do not like the merit raise because they put their own feelings into your score and u do not always get what u deserve. It is very unfair!
