Because more than likely they don't have a job to pay for it unless there parents are rich. I didnt get my cell until 3 mos. ago and I am 16. It is a prepaid phone but it is very useful so I think that every person should have one including children but some parents cant afford to have cellphones. My prepaid isnt cheap if I use it frequently as my minute rates are a preset amount for a cash amount but I do think that kids need them and now I dont know what I would do without mine!. :-) I have tracfone!!!!

hi how old are you and anyway about your question why don't kids get cellphones? because they can`t pay there own bill because they text message my daughter that is 9 in a half has a cellphone a pre paid cell phone

depends on the parents. Many of the companies have family plans, so parents and kids can share minutes and be on the same bill, etc.

Money doesn't grow on trees you know... kids lose things and break things too frequently to entrust them with a cell phone.

cuz unless they out out to places by themselves (which they shouldnt) or run a business or have really busy adult like live who needs em? its just a gaudy accessorie that costs a bunch of money
