No righteous, do-gooder answers please and definitely no holy roller "I think god is the answer" answers.

That's correct, religion has nothing to do with it. So "god" doesn't need to be thrown into the mix as most people with no real answer are bound to do.

There is a saying "First eats. Then, morality". This is a simple way of referring to the Hierarchy of needs described by Malsow. Which basically says what you said: unless your most basic physical survival needs are met, you can't really try to achieve your higher level needs, such as love, or status, or empathy toward others. There are other frameworks that disagree with this, but this one seems to be one that supports your comment.

There must be a lot because I constantly talk to seemingly grown adults talking about life being fair and we need to be fair, and it is only fair....ect. Seems like if everyone in the world had a million dollars except for one person that had a million dollars and ten cents that someone, or more likely many people would complain about the guy with the extra ten cents. Although many people would say that they don't care, the fact is that they really do not feel as though they have "got theirs" unless they had at least as much as everyone else.

I wish more people would realize that life is not fair, and that if you live in America at ANY income level you are better off than 90% of the world.

I can, the fact is that if everyones doing well for themselves the economy flourishes and then it comes back to me. Thats as self centered as I can put it. If everyones doing well for themselves then I do better for myself.

People with your attitude are usually not very happy. Religion has nothing to do with it.
