I have a crush on a guy 2 years younger than me. However, I just found out that he and his friend "make fun of me because I like racing and I'm a girl" Am I weird for liking racing? Why would they make fun of me?

It's not at all weird, you should be happy that you know what interests you! Some people make fun of other people if they don't understand them. Or sometimes they make fun for no good reason, except that they are immature.
And by the way, I don't think it's that rare that girls/women like racing, there are plenty of just people out there from both genders so don't let this guy make you feel like you're some weirdo because of this. It's ridiculous.

No you are not weird. It's quite common for females to enjoy racing and participate. It's one of few sports where your size, muscle, weight, or how fast you run doesn't dictate performance on the field/track. These guys are feeling inferior to you at this point.
Check out NHRA.com there is a feature article covering the most dominant funny car driver (John Force) and his three gorgeous daughters who also race. There are also several female drag racing stars who have equal talent if not more than some of the male drivers.
In several ways, the NHRA has surpassed NASCAR in the fact NHRA is more open and very much welcomes the idea of female competitors.....and sponsors love them!

No its not weird. I am female and have many female friends who love racing as much as I do. Sounds to me like they are immature and possibly chauvinist. Men have never made sense to me personally, but most people who make fun of other people are usually uneducated on the subject they are talking about or they just have no understanding.

Your not weird in any way. If liking racing makes you weird..I must be the queen of strange. I'm a 29 yr old female and have been racing ever since I could walk ( started out with mini bikes, motocross, Drag..street class).
I collect classic muscle cars and enjoy every minute of going to Nascar Nextel Cup races..

It was one of the biggest turn on's for my husband wich instantly attracted him to me..

No, it is not weird. There are alot of female fans in NASCAR and plus there are a few race car drivers in the different fields. To name a few Erin Crooker, and Dana Patrice of The IRL.
