do on a 2001 dodge dakota? what does it do when it goes bad?

truck will not run well...if at all...it is an electronic sensor for the fuel injection system as to where the throttle (the linkage that you control with the gas pedal) is. What problems are you having

it tell the computer the position of the gas pedal such as are you step on the gas pedal all the way to the floor,half way,etc.it control how much gas is squirting out the fuel injectors. when this goes bad,it will turn on the check engine light.it will goes into a back up mode to let you drive your vehicle to a repair shop.if you waited too long,your vehicle will not run at all.

Basically it tells the fuel pump and engine how far down you are pressing the gas pedal. If it goes out the gas pedal will usually be unresponsive (have no effect on the car).
