I can't imagine whom, but I CAN imagine what they went through: They gather everyone at the city-state plaza and go, "Okay, the reason I called this meeting was because I just found out that God dosen't exist...Yah, I know, it's hard to believe. But it's the truth. God told me himself."

Just as Atheism MUST be invented by humans, thusly God (or the figer-pointing, mean kind most Atheists don't want to believe in) MUST be invented by humans as well. I believe that there is a sliver of Creator inside all of us. But I use the Lord and Lady to attune to that creator. You see, humans are really good at trying to make God so much like ourselves, judgemental, capricious- making God in our own image. And so it is easy to see that the Lord and Lady must need fingers and toes, because they are my human link to the divine All. That sliver resides in all of us, Atheist or not. (I spent seven long years Atheist, so I'm coming with experience.) So humans invented it, but it's really not an invention at all, it's a shift in the collective unconscious that has been there ever since humans started incarnating on this planet. It is a frame of mind. You can't "invent" a frame of mind. You experience it. So who was that first experiencer.....probably an ascended master, by now, I think Atheism teaches a person well if they see things as, If there's no god, then there's no satan. No one is helping me do good things, and no one is trying to get me to do bad things. Every thing that happens to me is cause and effect, so anything bad that happens to me, well I caused it. I got back into the light because I am a philosopher at heart, and I like to do good things, not to get back good, just to do them. But I reap this back three times....Yes, Goddess loves me, and you, even though you don't believe she exists. Blessed Be
P.S>
Question with boldness even the existence of a god; because if there be one he must approve of the homage of reason more than that of blindfolded fear.

Since some people have to be immature and insult, or give their theories ( as usual ), I thought that I would just suggest that you read this article. Atheism really wasn't 'invented', but has existed for quite some time. I hope the article helps.

No one "invented" it. It's ALWAYS existed. Many of the world's greatest minds were atheists, like Albert Einstein. He seriously doubted the existence of God and made many attempts to prove he didn't exist. However, society never took kindly to people that wanted to think "outside the box" so many of them were killed or just went on pretending like they believed. With the threat of a public execution staring into your face, no matter what you did or didn't believe, you'd probably want to just go along with everyone else. There wasn't always the hardcore atheists that there are today, but it's definately always existed. I think the most current statistics say only about 70-80 percent of the world believe in a "higher power". So that leaves a loooot of people outside the box (about a billion people).

But I seriously think people are slacking off on believing BECAUSE of the way religion is perceived. Sometimes religious people look almost like a cult. They want you to think, act, and believe every single thing they say, and that pushes people away. Sometimes forever. I've personally started losing faith, but I consider myself more "agnostic" than atheist. (Atheists deny the possibility of a God, Agnostics just don't know and don't make assumptions or pretend to know. They are NOT the same). And most of my lack of faith has come from people shoving beliefs in my face and insulting me for not believing or not believing *exactly* the same thing. It's almost like with little kids. You tell them not to put that marble in their mouth, and the more you tell them not to do it, the more they want to just to see what you'll do. Right?

Oh, and by the way, atheists (nor agnostics) believe in the devil, Lucifer, or any figure like that either. There's no proof of his existence either (in response to "fervent one").

Atheism wasn't invented, it was first. Everyone was an atheist until someone came up with the idea of God.

So, Nick, really, I think the answer is obvious: God created atheism. Surely this is a fine example of Intellingent Design.

Simply put "lucifer did"! He doesn't want you or I to go to heaven. He'll do what ever it takes to keep us from knowing the truth which is confessing that sin seperates us from God and we need a mediator which is Christ Jesus the lord, thee taker away of sin and the one who unites us with God by His blood!!!

It's not something you invent, asshole. It is simply knowing the obvious truth, that this "god" is complete nonesense.

the better question is, "who created god?",
seeing as atheism has been around a lot longer than god. check your facts buddy.

No one did. It just developed with the development of human power.
