A little steel one. I usually use a size 6 or 7. 7 is a little smaller, and since I crochet loose, I use it more often. If you crochet really tight, try a 5.

I agree with Amber B use a #6 or #7 needle. My favorite are the Milward from England or the Boye from an American manufacturer. I do find a #5 a bit too thick for bedspread cotton. Have fun. Actually experiment to see which needle gives you the most pleasing finished product.

10 or #11, a crewel needle

7 or 8 would work well (American sizing).
