What efeects do you think time travel has? My thought, you can't change time. example: A guy is born rich he has always had money in his bank account. He goes back in time to become richer by depositing money into a bank account. When he returns to his time nothing has changed. He always had money because he was the one in the first place to put the money in the account.

I think time is written out already. Like we live in a three dimensional world, yet pass through time (maybe the 4th dimension), this 4th dimension of time then exists like out third dimension, however, we can only pass through each plane sequencially, like a 2 dimensional object could only pass through levels of depth but in one plane at a time. I think then that all time exists simultaneously with no end and no beginning. It exists like our 3 dimensions, seemingly endless. If we were not confined to these bodies we might be able to see all of time all at once, or a good portion of it like I can see a mile in front of me and a mile behind depending on where I am. Or I can look endlessly up into the sky.

With this theory, everything we've done and will do has been done already, and continuously an infinitely is being done over and over again in every plane of time. Just like every page in a book is already written and anytime it is looked at it looks exactly the same and always says the same thing. Even if read out of order, the pages remain the same.

Someone once asked me if I could prove that time travel would ever exist or not.

I told him I would make a vow and make all my decendents vow to this also. If ever there would be a time machine invented, I or my decendents would gain access to it and travel back in time to the exact moment I had originally been asked that question.

Sinse then, I've been travelling around in this really awesome time machine........no just kidding. Nothing happened. As it seems to be, if a time machine were ever created, then where are the time travelers now? Surely the history books would have noted some strange guy with a crazy machine at Lincoln's Assasination, or at the moon landing or something.

Simply, time travel cannot exist in the future because it does not exist now.

I think that if time travel were to exist, the world would never have existed because some nut would have probably used it to destroy the world or some important person in the past. Also, if you ever did anything to effect your birth or your decision to go back to the past, you would be trapped in a paradox and I don't know what would happen to you.

Space/time is a layer cake The lower layers have to be there for the upper layers to remain the same. While it may be possible to travel back in time via wormholes or another conduit, these holes errode the lower layers and have an effect on the upper ones.

What defines us as being "in existence" in the sense that we know it is the fact that we are stuck in a time continuum. If we managed to escape from that continuum then we would no longer "exist" in the sense that we do now. Whether we could exist in any sense is a matter for speculation. It's like a recipe in a sense: time is a necessary ingredient for making you exist; take time out of it and you would no longer exist, at least not in the same way.

In other words, I think I agree with you...
