The United States supports Israel with money and arms to the extent that most of the world sees them as a single entity. This is done in spite of Israel spying against the United States and being a closet nuclear power. Why all the support?

Closet Nuke power? Since when has it been a secret? Do you hear Israel publicly saying that Iran should be wiped off the face of the earth? Do you think it could have anything to do with the beliefs of freedom and preventing genocide? Do you think it could have something to do with the religious beliefs that help the founding fathers of the USA?

You forgot to put in the part about Israel shooting up one of our Navy ships a few years ago, or didn't you know that.

Personally, I think we should let Israel kick the crap out of their neighbors who keep attacking them. They can, and they would.

This is a complicated question but I will endeavor to provide a viable answer - despite all the ingnorant answers delivered so far.

The Jews comprise about 3% of the US population, but of this 3% they have an inordinately high representation in the US government and the Media. Because they happen to be very vocal, and because their voting bloc in certain parts of the country can make the difference in who wins an election (gee, Hillary Clinton suddenly found out she was Jewish when she moved to New York before winning the Senatorial race there), the people running for office fear the ire of the Jews. The Jewish-influenced media holds a pro-Israel stance which unwitting Christians blindly support in their ignorance - completely unaware of the fact that Political Zionism is as much an enemy of Christianity as is the Devil.

So, take the inordinate amount of influence held by the Jews in the halls of government (mostly in unelected, administrative roles), as a voting bloc, and as controllers of the media, not to mention Christian ignorance about the real, Marxist-influenced policies of Political Zionism, and you have your answer.

Queen of Earth? i do now not understand what the promise replaced into yet she's doing a good interest.

Because, for a long time (and it's not so true any longer), the U.S. government felt that Israel was their only RELIABLE ally in the region, this being because so many of the Israeli citizens are of European or U.S. origin, and therefore have similar cultural values.

And, now that Israel is no longer quite-as-reliable an ally, the U.S. is trying to buy influence with them in the region (and with other governments in the Middle East, as well). The U.S. has historically attempted to buy influence with many, many nations, in the form of foreign aid grants and long-term, low-interest loans.

It is NOT--repeat NOT--because of the "International Conspiracy of Jewish Bankers and Communists," because "Jews have all the money," or because a friend-of-a-friend read all about it in the "Protocols of the Elders of Zion." (Yes, I'm being sarcastic, but I'm a little bit tired of the lies. I mean, they're not even half-truths--they are baldfaced lies.)

Because we too know the uphill fight of a good and independent people against an aggressive environment, and we have a tendency to root for the underdog in this nation, thank god. Because America was built on Blood, Sweat and Tears (some of it white, some not) we realize the backbreaking labor it takes to start a nation and build it from scratch and know that having Israel in that neighborhood can offer us defensive as well as strategic knowledge. There are many reasons, too many to list historically...

Simply put, because it's important to keep a strong foothold in the most volatile region in the World, wouldn't you think?

If you are expected; some would rather say 'insist on', being the 'police force' of the World, wouldn't it be top priority to maintain a strong power base there? With Israel being one of the most militant nations in the World, and the only one with a remotely similar ideology in that region...it just makes sense.

You stand by your friends.

The elected officials want the Jewish population happy. As long as the U.S. is backing Israel, the powers-at-be have a greater chance of being in power longer.

Of course, the reason the Jewish population want Israel backed is a complicated, long, partialy Biblical history.

I don't know. All I know is that Israel is trying to come across as a bully. Supported kidnappings, bombings, forced (and brutal) removal of Palestinians from Gaza, etc. I used to side with them however, now I think they deserve everything (and more) they get. Im so tired of them trying to portray themselves as victims and now what do they do? Pick a fight with Lebanon? Whatever they are trying to do isnt clear it should be a cause for alarm ... for all countries. Their government is just as shady as ours.

Because Israel is our 51st state--we have always supported Israel. Why stop now, when they may need us the most?
