Because having every "thing" you ever wanted usually indicates material things and has nothing to do with true happiness.

because people are often misguided when they make goals. maybe they want to be rich and have a good-looking spouse, but when they get there, they realize that they should have gone for something more concrete, more lasting, and more satisfying.
