The first console game I remember playing was a pong game. That's all the thing did. Hook it up to the television and play pong. But, at the time, it was state-of-the-art.

The first arcade game I remember playing was a two player spaceship battle game. There was a star in the center of the screen that could be set to either repel you or as a black hole that would suck you it.

My favorite game is Red Alert 2. It is old but really fun. Not too many oddities. It is a surprisingly well balanced single or multi-player battling game.

I like that you don't ask, "what's the greatest game" and ask, "what is YOUR favorite game" instead. People like different things. The game I like might be old but I love it. You should give it a try.

The first game I remember playing is Pitfall for the Atari when I was 5-7. I didn't know what it was called for a long time until I saw someone playing it about 5 years ago. My favorite arcade game is Galaga. My favorite for computer is Half-life 2 or F.E.A.R. And my favorite game of all time for console is a tie between Halo(Xbox), Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory(Xbox), Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter(Xbox 360), The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion(Xbox 360).

I think my first game was Pong. A white ball you hit with a paddle across a TV screen. Totally black and white.

My all time favorite is still The Legened of Zelda, Ocarina of Time!

pong (approx. age 10) in a bar my mom took me to (30 +years ago) It was some tennis game in black and white. I find it hard to name my favorite one (so many to choose from). I like puzzle. or matching games (Mahjong). Research has shown these type of games (and trivia one) help fight dementia.
