Well, I'm not sure. That question is worded so that it simply comes out wrong. I would have advised you to tell him that you love having him as a teacher, or you love the fact that he's teaching your class. The other way just seems to imply something else...like something a guy student would tell a girl (or another guy) student he had a crush on, or liked.
So, yeah. That was kind of blatant from your word choice.
Sorry.

It might scare the hell out of him. A teacher who develops any kind of social (let alone romantic or sexual) relationship with a student risks not only his current job, but his career!
I was a teacher for many years and have a lot of experience in dealing with teachers in this kind of trouble. We generally train teacher who get the kind of message you've given to turn the case over to a social worker or guidance counselor right away, because even a hit of something going on....one of your friends tells somebody that you have a "thing" with Mr. so-and-so, and he's toast.
I know this is hard to understand, but parents send their kids away to school every day, and trust that the teachers and other adults in the school system will keep the children safe from all kinds of things. One of those things is sexual predators. So they can never ever cross that line.
Sorry kid....it just can't be.

First of all you should stay away bc he is your teacher if for no other reason. Now, do you have any reason to believe that he is gay and if so just bc yo think he may be does not mean that he is willing to date a student. find someone your own age.
P.S. if you were straight and hitting on your teacher i would tell you the same thing!

Um, it is highly inappropriate for a teacher to DATE a student in any way shape or form. PEOPLE GO TO PRISON FOR THAT!
Don't hit on your teacher. If he has any feelings toward you, all that you will accomplish is making it harder on him because he can't act on them
Wait until you do something important like turn 18 and graduate, then go back and discuss your feeling.
Unless you really want him to end up in doo doo.
If you are in college, your Prof can even be fired if you are a current student of his.

Any teacher who values his job will, even if they do "interpret" your comment as intended, at very least wait till you're out of school. That having been said, if someone said that to me and I were a teacher, I'd take it to mean that they like my class. That's about it.

THIS IS NOT CREEPY!
Omg, this happened to me like a year ago, i got the oppurtunity to chat with him through email and it was easier to explain that way, he took it well and we'd always hang out after school. He was a guy, i was a guy. But I dunno i felt good being around him and i think i did the same for him, we just never did anything...more of an attraction and admiration kinda thing.
But no that comment might've creeped him a bit, be staright forward...the worst he'd do is explain why that would be wrong. You have to risk it

Me personally, it would make me nervous as hell. Because nowadays so much get twisted on purpose to serve an ulterior motive and especially if a person feels betrayed. If I were the teacher, I would put space between us and be distant in my relations with you. If you really care for this teacher, leave it alone, even if he did reciprocate in kind, it would be his tail not yours.

How is that a hypothetical question?
Stay away from your teacher. You will both get in huge trouble if this goes any further than a student/teacher relationship.

Well since you didn't ask an opinion on the appropiateness of it, I won't comment on that.
If he is gay, he might get the drift, especially if you are close in age. If he's not then no he prolly won't get it. He would prolly just pat himself on the back for providing a good learning environment for his students then go home to his wife lol.

Probably.
As you get older, you'll see that it's pretty easy to pick up on such things.
He probably knows, and as a responsible adult who cares for his job, reputation, and his very life, won't respond in the way you hope.
Do him a favor. Let it go. You are only putitng his entire life in jeapardy.
