I just can't sleep. I don't know why, but it just started about a month ago. I toss and turn, and when I finally do go to sleep, it's like at 3 AM. I don't nap during the day and I get up every day at 7:30. I really need to stop this. Please help me. I don't want to take a medicine, and I hate going to the doctor's. It was so bad yesterday I had to take a Tylenol PM to sleep. Help! Could I have insomnia?

Try not to drink caffeinated beverages and don't eat chocolate 8 hours before your bedtime. Sugar may also keep you awake. Don't excercise or eat right before bedtime. Do you live in a noisy area? Are you worried or stressed out about something? Was there a big change in your life a month ago? Stressful issues could keep you awake trying to solve them in your head instead of sleeping. I sleep with the TV on (on volume 7) and I get 8 hours, sometimes more if I don't set my alarm. I don't recommend TV sleeping for everyone but it works for me. Sometimes reading in bed helps too.

I agree with burning brain. You need to be doing more physically in the day time so that your body needs something to rest from. Don't do anything exciting an hour or two before you want to go to sleep and don't think about stressful things too much when trying to sleep. Reading my bible before I go to sleep also helps me sometimes. Hope this helps.

You need to balance your life and I would highly recommend doing more during the day. Doing some exercise would help.
I'm a Marine and doing things without sleep for a few days helps to get my body tyred and then I can sleep for a few hours(even with the loudest noises around on, haha)

figure out what is bothering you and come to terms with it.
relax without thinking about your problems, de-stress, warm shower, clear your mind, slow deep breaths, listen to something soothing, a good book, set a time on your alarm ea. day, fewer naps, more exercise, a brisk walk, less caffeine, more water, better healthy foods, and maybe a fan in your bedroom to feel the wind on your face, and the noise from it will take away the empty quiet, enough to fall asleep.(sometimes you need a little sound)
try to avoid meds if possible...and good-night, sleep-tight
