How do you know if someone is using you ?

Friends are flaky at times.

How do you know if they are just using you for what you have ?

Do you feel like they are ever meeting your needs? Are they ever there for you? Do they ever do things you suggest? Do they listen to you? Do they give you advice? If you answered no to all or most of the above then they may well be using you.

Okay here's the best way I know of to explain. If a friend ignores you most of the time except when they need somewhhere to stay,some money, food, or anything material then they're using you.

when they borrow things and dont return them.
when they expect you to pay for everything.
when they stop picking up the phone on the 1st ring knowing its you.
when they dont want you to go with them places.
when they eat all your food and dont offer to replace some of it.
when they use your phone to call long distance and refuse to pay the bill.
when they take your movies and video games and then hawk them off for cash.

You know if they are using you by the fact that you are doing more for them than they are doing for you. If the scales aren't balancing then you shouldn't be friendly with them because they certainly are not your friend.

well, you clearly have someone in mind, if you're asking this question. essentially, if they are ungrateful, and don't reciprocate your generosity, then yes, they are using you.
