our troops are stretched so thin in Iraq, Afghanistan, and now the US-Mexican border. If there is going to be a big regional war in the middle east (a war that would really matter if we got involved) we will not have enough volunteer troops! Don't you think there will be a draft?

And no,there won't be a draft.The military wants people who want to serve,not who are forced into it and won't do their jobs.

Not unless congressman Charlie Rangles gets his way. (Democrat by the way.) There are still enough brave men and women patriotic enough to serve in the military overseas. Besides, the public would *love* the idea of the draft...
However, if the army keeps being put down by the media and society, the USA might have to re-instill the draft system.

i don't think there will be a draft unless we invade North Korea. the draft is very unpopular among people in the US and any government authority to set up a draft would quickly loose public support regardless of whether it was for the good of the country or not

No, the army is so technical, that they want career people to join. Unless the war comes to the US, a draft won't help even if the military is shorthanded.
