Holy cow - you have some crazy answers already!!

The 'triple screen' or 'AFP' screen is a routine prenatal screen offered to all women to assess the risk of chromosome problems including Down syndrome. Typically it is done at 16-19 weeks gestation.

Do not worry, most results are normal. Even those results that are 'positive' just mean that there is an increased risk and that additional followup is warranted. Think of the test like a fishing net...it catches a few pregnancies that need a closer look, but most turn out just fine. For the people that swear up and down that their (friend/sister/aunt/wife/mother) was told that the baby definitely "had a problem, but turned out to be fine", they need to understand the fishing net theory...just b/c you're high risk does NOT mean that there IS a problem. Ask questions until YOU FULLY understand what the doctor says...that's what they are there for.

Worry is normal, but don't let it overshadow your deserved joy of being pregnant!

I really don't know what is wrong with this sick society. Everything is so "youth oriented" that everyone over 30 is suppose to just be in for all the maladies of the world! The place they should be (in congress) has nothing but old geezers who cant think straight no more!
My brothers girlfriend at the time was pregnant with his first, her third child and because the doctor told her because of your age "37" you will have a downs baby. The fool went and had an abortion! It was a boy. The next time my brother gave her an ultimatum that if she does that again he's leaving, she went thru the pregnancy and delivered a healthy baby girl. Can you imagine that? I hope that doctor pays when God gets a hold of him.
If you don't have a relationship with God, you don't have anything.
My pastor went thru "tests" and was told her baby was going to have spinal bofia or something bad. Her and her husband prayed and asked for Gods healing. She delivered a normal, healthy child. That kid when he finally started walking it was all over. He was in everything. Hopefully you get linked up with a Pentecostal, church of God in Christ church so that you can bring up the child in the admonishment of the Lord.

this is just a routine test that they do for pregnancy today. My 23 yr daughter had the same thing. Sometimes when a doctor runs these test for precautions they have a tendency to scare the living crap out of you. In the case of my daughter she was off on her calculations of when she actually got pregnant so the hormone levels were off. just try to relax and not worry so much. Stress is not good for the mother to be and the baby.

i am now 27, but i was 19 my first time.....they did the inital test and came back saying my son had one in 140 chance of having down. i worried and prayed. they decided to do an amnio, to find out for sure. the main thing is, no matter what test they run, your wife will worry. she is the main life source for your baby, and that is a huge responsbilty. i was a wreck for the first few months of my first pregnancy. my prayers to your family! and good luck

Prayer has been wanting to be ineffective in coping with wellness themes. Prayer would not replace the end results of a blood attempt. you want to get slightly training. you're mentally wandering round lost contained in the darkish a even as.
