wow. i can't get a straight answer from anyone. at first I always thought that a level of guess is involved (not at the beginning, but progressing through the game) but now I am being told that I can mathematically prove a space cannot contain a bomb (see my newest question) so now I don't know what to think, so I'm letting you vote on it, lmfao!

Yes, think of the end of the game, there are 2 undetermined sqaures next to each other and 1 mine. The area is surrounded by 1s, you have a 50:50 chance of the right one

chance, skill, and reason. The first square you pick is purely chance. After that, you have to use reason to figure out where the bombs are by the little number you're given. After you've gotten the hang of it, it's skill to know the common patterns of the bombs around each number.

Nope not at all. You click a square, it gives you a number.
That number corresponds to how many mines are touching it.
For example a square with a 1 has one mine touching it. If you know its a mine you right click it and flag it.
Your best bet is to do a click and it opens up a bunch of the map. And do it from there

no. It's a game of reasoning and not getting angry and throwing your monitor across th room. The numbers tell you how many mines are around that quare. You can then figure out which squares are the mines. It takes a while to get used to, but then it's easy. Yet, it still annoys me.
