My Husband and I went to Niagara Falls Canada, just got back today,...has anyone else been? What did you like or dislike about it? I found it to be a circus myself, with inflated prices..but seeing the Falls was worth the trip..tell me your experinces!

Growing up and still living only 10 minutes from the Falls, I hate it. Day after day you have to put up with thousands of tourists, most who have no clue how to drive (or walk for that matter). The casinos have brought a new level of crime into the city. I live in a city somewhat beside N-F and I can pay 3x less for something than someone in N-F.
Over the last few years, hotel prices have just rocketed.
I'm just happy I have the memories of Niagara Falls from back in the 90's when I was a kid.

I was there last August it was great we stayed at the Jellystone campground and if you have kids it is the best place to stay. They even have cabins you can rent if you don't have a tent or a camper and the kids have so many activities they will even meet Yogi and Boo Boo. It was allot of fun for everyone they have a shuttle that goes to the falls all day long so you do have to drive it was all at a reasonable price. We knew it (the Falls) would be expensive and we were expecting it. We went to allot of the museums, Under the Falls, and Marineland. The whole family enjoyed themselves. My youngest who is 4 keeps asking when we will go back.
If you are to go do it all! enjoy the sites! The falls were amazing.
So worth the trip!

If you're traveling by land or sea, the answer is technically yes, but practically it's no. The new law about passports only applies to people entering the United States. That's means, yes, you could enter Canada with a US license and birth certificate. However, once you return, you will be required to have a passport by the US border agents. Also, the Canadians have said that they will honor whatever law the US abides by. In other words, although Canadian law does not force you to have a passport, they may apply the American standards to you as you cross the border. Bottom line: you're guaranteed to have more problems and are more likely to be denied entry (especially as we get farther away from June 1) if you don't have a passport, passcard, NEXUS or enhanced driver's license.

Prices are inflated yes. Why? Probably because it's a tourist attraction.
Fallsview Casino was great!!! Actually won $$$
Boston Pizza on Clifton Hill was a bad place to visit on a Saturday night. To many drunking teens were in the game room.

It is certainly a tourist trap, with inflated prices and lots of people with cameras but the Falls are beautiful. I love them at night, and it is even more beautiful in the winter. If you ever get the chance, come on a sunny day in the winter. Alot less people...

Yep. Canadian native, about 4 hours away from Niagra. Definately is a tourist city, but of course the Falls are good. Did you hit up one of the casinos? The Fallsview is really nice. Very elaborate.....and cushy carpet.

My wife and I went. It's very touristy, but well worth it. You're so much closer to the falls from that side.
The night we went, we saw on their local news that a guy was arrested on suspicion of throwing his wife down in the ravine down from the falls a way. We had been there earlier that day, so it was really freaky.

Since they have built the Casino's prices have skyrocketed. It's like a zoo in the summer time also.
