Absolutely. I take food onto the plane all the time. However, you must consume it while on the plane. Many foods cannot be brought into other countries, especially the USA.

Fresh fruits and vegetables and most seafood and meat products cannot be brought into another country... but you can certainly eat them while on the plane.

Many packaged foods are OK. Be certain to note on the immigration form that you have foods and show them to the inspection people upon entry into the USA.

I'm not sure, maybe. But if you have purchased nuoc mam, in Vietname, you shouldn't take it home with you. Nuoc Mam is a Vietnamese fish sauce. Very yummy but has a strong smell that most Americans aren't very used to so it may smell very gross to them and they probably won't be able to stand the smell. It is also very sticky and stuff. I think you can bring food though. Just put it in your carry-on bag so if ur hungry or something you can chow down on it for the very long plane trip. I thnk it's eighteen hrs or sumthing, very long flight. I don't know why they wouldn't let u bring food onto the airplane, so I'm leaning toward the yes side but who knows, safety precautions w/e, WHo knows..........hope this helps and if ur going to vietnam cool! have fun.

Plane is alright. It is the country custom law that will determine if you can bring it into the country. Differs from country to country.

Seems like for US, you cannot bring food in, probably because it has agriculture industry.
