Funky question as most people will probably go for Jim Carrey as he is more recent & popular nowadays. I do like Jim Carrey for his mannerisms & grimaces but he does seem like a one trick pony. OK I know he has done straight acting & I loved him The Trueman Show & Eternal Sunshine of Spotless MInd but Tim Curry is the man!
Tim Curry is superb at everything he does, brilliant accent! A great English Actor who can do anything from Shakespeare plays in the theatre to the musical The Rocky Horror Picture Show where he really camped it up & sang too! Also v.funny in the film Clue & scary like hell as Pennywise the clown in Stephen King's It. His diversity & calibre is much more vast & sophiscated than Jim Carrey. Jim Carrey needs to be more adventurous.

I like Jim Carry better. He can very, very funny and he can also be dramatic. I laughed at his "Fire Marshall Bill" character every time I saw it, but I was glued to the TV during the movie The Truman Show. I think he is a more versatile actor than Tim Curry.

Tim Curry, hands down. He always seems to be the bad guy and end up dead at the end of the movie, though.
Maybe a movie with both of them would be fun.
