I won a bid on an eBay item July 11. I have contacted the seller about s@h charges as well as for their address (they only take cheques and money orders..sigh..). I haven't heard back yet. I contacted eBay and they said I need to have an email header from the seller saying they aren't shipping the item. I don't have this since I have gotten no emails from the seller. Can I pull out of this "deal'..I feel uncomfortable now..and the part that they only accept cheques has me nervous...his feedback has 9 negatives (recent) some saying that he doesn't ship or that he sold it already
If you eBay..what would you do?

There are rules in place for sellers and buyers. Buyers and sellers should contact each other within 3 business days after the listing ends. See link:
http://pages.ebay.com/help/buy/questions/wait-contact.html >contact
You can retract your bid under certain circumstances. "Unable to contact seller" is one of those circumstances. See link:
http://pages.ebay.com/help/buy/questions/retract-bid.html >retract bid
Sounds like you need to contact eBay customer support and remind them of their own policies.

if you have sent the cheque and not had the goods cancel the cheque.
there is not a lot else you can do exept report the seller to the police for fraud.
if the reports are negative then you have no option but to pull out of the deal. as for only accepting cheques or money orders that in it's self is not a concern. what would be is if you only had a P.O. Box number as an address. I never do businesss with anyone who only provides a box number.
I'd only ever do business if i could verify that the address given was a real address and that the recipent or company were legitimately at the address.
I do not ebay personaly. but the above appliue r3egardless with who you shop with.
good luck and remeber to report the seller to the police if you suspect that the seller is commiting fraud.

I would copy what you have said above and send to eBay feedback. Since you have not heard from the dealer and he has negative feedback, I think you have a strong case for pulling out, but indicate that you do not want this to effect your own rating.
Personally, I don't bid on anything that says they won't accept paypal because paypal can give you an insurance guarantee. I was burned by the only take cheques and money orders situation because the whole transaction (even though it was eventually successful) took much longer than a paypal transaction.

Was the check cashed? More then likly you lost your money, I hope you didn't lose much. If someone only takes checks or money orders and has neg feedback, you shouldn't buy from from them, I won a ,lot of clothes like that and paid and ebay wouldn't do anything about. But still complain and contact the others that left neg feedback and have them complain, when a bunch of people complain the seller will be suspanded or terminated, that's what I did but getting your money back probably won't happen. But at least you can get him kicked off and get scum like that off the site. Good Luck!!

Well, from what you have said about the seller, I would have not purchased anything from him/her. I always make sure to look at their feedback rating as well as comments before I make a bid on an item.

I would contact Ebay again. Tell them exactly what you wrote here. If they cannot give you more information on what you need to do, I would just drop it. You haven't sent money yet, so you haven't lost anything. I would leave negative feedback too!

i'd email him and ask what was going on and if doesnt answer you back dont send check.i personaly wont buy any thing from seller who wont accept paypal because they will pay you back if screwed.the ones who want a check scare me.they then have your bank routing # & account # .bad idea if they are honest.

I'm sorry I can't help you.....I was in a situation just like that. I just kind of ignored the problem...it was worth like 5 dollars anyways. I hope everything works out for you!
