Romans 1:24 God's wrath against mankind
(going from 1:24 because I cant fit it all in)
Therefore god gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. HTey exchanged the truth of god for a lie, and worshipped and served created things rather then the creator-who is forever praised. Amen.
Because of this, god game them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion. Furthermore, since they did not think it worthwile to retain the knowledge of God, he have them over to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done. they have become filled with every kind of wickedness, eveil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, decet

and malice. They are gosips, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogend and boastful. they invent ways of doing evel, they disobey their parents, they are senseless, faithless, heartless, ruthless. Although they know God's righetous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.

Has anyone wondered why Paul had to send a letter to the Romans? If you don't know, it was because he was banned from the area. He could be such a b|tch at times. hehehehe....

Anyway...

What I see written is that humans (both men and women) abandoned their "natural" inclinations and out of lust, and nothing more, decided to lend themselves to a depraved nature.
Paul, in reality, spoke nothing of same-sex love; rather, he addresses the NATURAL instincts they decided to abandon. Recall, he also speaks of other socially acceptable norms such as fidelity, honor and goodnes that we all hope to find in a one to one relationship with another person --- whether Gay *or* straight. The key word in all of this is "NATURAL" [desires].

And that, I believe is the TRUE context in which this little rabble rouser spoke....er, wrote. In a letter. Because he couldn't get any closer.

Best Wishes!

No, for the last time, God sent Jesus his son to deliver a new promise a new covenant, that whosoever believes in him shall live eternally. God's message through Christ is to love one another as you love God.

In Paul's letter to the Roman's he was recounting an old testament story, which he did not fully understand, and which took place when the Jew's lived under the Purity Codes which may be seen in Leviticus. But everything that is old now is new, and the law is not the law anymore.

There are problems when people choose a certain passage in the Bible and put it above the others. If you have to do that, choose the actual words of Christ, not those of a frustrated teacher who was trying hard, but had a lot to learn.

Not God.... the people who wrote the Bible (In this case Paul) hated hedonism, and the Romans were about as hedonistic as you can get... wild orgies, vomitariums, etc. You have to put this in the context of the time period it was written in... Rome was at the height of its glory, and Christianity was just starting out. Paul hated the Romans for crucifying Jesus, so he gave them some bad press and tried to scare some decadent Romans into converting to Christianity... At least that's the way I remember it from school, but that was long ago. Don't blame God for Paul's homophobia.

God does NOT hate homosexuals, nor any sinner for that matter, what he hates is the sin itsself. He made us humans creatures of choice, we can either choose to live His way and go to Heaven, or live our own depraved way and roast in Hell with the devil in the eternal lake of fire.

What I make of that is that is a verse from the Old Testament of the Bible. IF you are a Christian, Jesus died for our sins and his teachings preclude anything in the Old Testament. GOD loves everyone and so does Jesus. There is not one passage in the New Testament that speaks of homosexuality as a sin.

I see a bunch of people have already said that God hates the sin not the sinner & I agree with them. Besides that, Christianity is not about being perfect and WITHOUT sin...It's about repenting for the sins you do commit & being as Christ-like as possible...

God hates their CHOICE to live a sinful lifestyle and to take pleasure in doing so, even though they innately KNOW it's wrong and unnatural. God detests homosexuality, and will punish those who do not repent and turn from it. It is a slap in the face of our Creator to take what HE established (marriage and procreation) and to flaunt that which is NOT Godly and NOT natural and NOT divinely ordained. That's akin to saying, "F--- you, God!"

I hate homos, but God loves everybody. If homos had not leered at me when I was a teenager, I might accept them now.
