so what are the point's for?? what happens once you get to level 2?

You don't get anything for the points. The more points you collect, however, the more questions you are allowed to ask per day, the more questions you are allowed to answer, etc. For instance, if you have 1 to 249 points, you can ask five questions a day and answer twenty [there are also more limits on things you can do, see the link below]. When you reach level two, however, which is 250 points to 999 points, you can ask ten questions a day and answer fourty.

There are also many different ways to gain/lose points. The link below goes into this indepth, but, as some examples, you get two points everytime you answer a question. You lose five everytime you ask a question. You get ten points if your answer is picked, by the author of the question, as the best answer.

Yahoo does say, however, that some sort of special "thank you" is coming for those people above 250 points. That hasn't happened yet though.
