If you think your child is mature enough to take care of them and their eyes, then it'll be up to you and the eye doctor. Contacts that are not cleaned on a regular basis can lead to very bad eye problems, like infections or scratched corneas. I'm sure you know this already. You just have to make sure that they'll take care of their eyes. Best of luck........

I only can answere what I know in New Hampshire, the legal age is 18 the same in most of the states in New England

when they are responsible enough to take care of them properly. i got mine in the 7th grade. mainly only because i played sports and my parents were tired of me breaking my glasses!
