I think it's just like black people have their same way of speaking certain slang words, valley girls have their own language, so gay guys just learn it from each other the same way...?? Hell, I don't know...:) Actually, I have to disagree. I know quite a few gay guys who don't speak any different from the straight ones. (well, maybe just a little. :))

It has become accepted as a part of gay jargon, which helps to distinguish them from straight men. It is an affected attempt to be more feminine and "different".

They have not had very much education in the way of speach therapy. This should have been taught in grade one and two, when they were learning to sound out the words that they spelt.
