Viewing it now, it appears slightly cliched, but it's important to understand that it created a lot of these cliches.
It's a good film, but I actually find it quite upsetting and depressing. It's important to try to get into the heads of the characters and not just point at the screen grinning like a moron whenever someone gets shot. It's very well directed (The Hughes Brothers films always are) and the screen-play is well-observed and plausible. I'd recommend it, but don't expect it to make you happy.

All in all it was a good movie but the violence was really graphic and it has a sad ending.
