First, you are NOT DUMB. Stop telling yourself this. Instead, think of all the intelligent, wise, smart things you do. Give yourself credit for this. Start telling yourself things like "I'm smart." "I can do it." "I can figure it out."
As for a career... most people have at least 5 - 7 careers in their life. There's nothing that says you have to pick ONLY ONE. Here's something that may help:
- Make a list of the top 5 things you REALLY enjoy doing.
- Make a list of your top 10 Values - things that are important to you.
- Make a list of 5 things you'd like to change in the world.
Now, review these lists. What jobs / careers fit most of the things on all three lists?
You could also visit a career counselor, or take some career assessments on-line.
Bottom line: be true to yourself. Do what you love. Marsha Sinetar wrote a book called "Do what you love, and the money will follow". Go find a copy.
I hope this helps. I wish you Peace.

You are not dumb. That is the first thing.
You are only 22 years old. This is the BEST time to try out different careers. You will learn what you like to do, what kind of working environment you like, and discover your working style.
You might make some mistakes, but everyone does. If you do, learn from it and try again. Life won't end if you make a mistake. if anything, it helps you to learn to take some risks, which is the only way to succeed in life.
As a side note, start hanging out with more positive people. Who ever has you thinking you are dumb and is making you afraid to try a career is not a good influence for you, even if it is a parent.

When looking for a career, please try to find balance in the following three areas:
* You are competent at what you do. You do not have to be expert. Just good. The delta between "expert" and "good" will be compensated by your willingness to make things right.
* You enjoy what you do. You have to at least like your work. You do not have to love it. If you don't even like your work, that will impact your competence over time.
* The job has to pay. You have to be able to sustain yourself. The job does not have to make you a millionaire, but fundamental bills and expenses must be covered.
These three areas do not all have to be equal. But they must be at certain minimal levels. That level is your call.
Hope that this helps. Good luck.

There is something out there for everyone. Find something that you enjoy doing (and can make money). Everyone is afraid when they enter the working world that something will happen and everything will be snatched from them. As long as you are doing something that you like and put forth your best effort, you should be alright.

Sit down and examine your talents... what things can you do RIGHT? Search for a job that requires those talents that you can do well enough to hold a job for a long time....
or...find a job that you can do... and just keep doing it without complaining, without messing up... do your best at all times.. no employer can ask for more than that.

Find something you enjoy and take a chance. Usually you'll get rejected for serveral jobs before you get hired, so don't get too discouraged. If you're doing something you love, you'll be fine.

Take some tests and find out what your abilities and aptitudes are. Whether you are "dumb" or not, there is something out there you're good at. Find it.
Best wishes and God bless.
