The best thing to do first is relax, if you smoke or drink you need to stop those and eat healthy foods. But the main thing is not to stress over it, when it is meant to be it will be.

I can't help you, but your doctor can. My bf & I were trying and trying, but I knew it was me because I've been married before and we never got pg either. I went to a fertility specialist (covered by my provincial health insurance in Canada) and the first thing they did was test his sperm. When that was okay, they did tests on me and found endometriosis which they removed with a laser through my belly button (one small scar). Then we tried fertility drugs (abdominal injections 10 times monthly, you do it yourself at home) and got pg but lost the baby at 14 weeks. We tried twice more and then the Dr said "you both need to take a break" so we stopped and took a honeymoon to Niagara falls (we'd just got married.) 17 weeks later my husband said "you are so crabby, go pee on a stick!" I did and we were - and I"m due in 4 days! It sounds so stupid, but when you stop trying is when you get pg. By the way I didn't know so I was smoking and not eating well or any of that, but everything is perfectly normal and the baby already weighs over seven pounds. Hope that helps a little - there's no magic way to get pregnant but the science is there if you really want it and can afford it. (Some of the drugs are covred by health insurance, others aren't, and the injections cost $390 per cycle.)

Per my OBGYN, to get pregnant, wait about 5 days after your period and have sex every other day for two weeks. Why? Once you ovulate, your egg only has 24 hours to get fertilized. Sperm stay alive about 3 days. Plus, doing it every other day allows your significant other/spouse to replenish sperm.

Attached is a site where you can plug in your average cycle and if you plug in 9 days and 16 days for your Luteal phase, you'll see the dates you are most likely to ovulate. Just have sex every other day starting 2 days earlier than the earliest date they give you and you should have a great chance at getting pregnant.

With as many teenagers and women getting pregnant, you wouldn't think it would be this complicated, but it can be.

Above all, don't stress. The more you try and stress about it, the harder it will be to get pregnant. The minute you just flow with it and actually not think about it, the more likely you will be to get pregnant.

Added note: at the end of all of it, wait (as hard as it may be) 3 days after your period is due before taking a test. Hormones have to build in order for the test to detect if you are or aren't pregnant.

Good Luck.

try this website... i am also trying to get pregnant... relax... and learn about your body. this will help you know when you are most likely to be fertile and ovulating. and that way you can have sex at the right times.

you dont have to be married to bring a child into this world, but its usually not a bad thing. not being married doesnt take away from the fact that you will love and do everything you can for the child... good luck!

stop trying. my husband and I gave up after trying for five years and ended up pregnant two months later. I honestly think we were trying too hard. If after a while it still don't work I would see the doctor. Just please don't give up hope, I almost did and now I am about to get the best miracle in my life, a little girl, due anyday. Good luck sweetie, I hope you get your miracle. Even if your not married it doesn't mean you won't be good parents

Look into Natural Family Planning (NFP). It is often used to prevent pregnancy but can help conceive, too.

You might consider marriage for insurance reasons. Then talk to an infertility specialist.
