No. Laws that were dutifully, enforced 20 years ago such as double parking, loitering, public noise nuisances and curfew for minors are currently, being ignored by officers who do not want any "trouble" on their turf. People no longer feel a sense of community and therefore, do not go out of their way to improve it or to get involved with the upbringing of youth who will shape the future. The new generation is out there without the common sense of decency that was there 10 years ago and it is only getting worse as babies continue to have babies and raise themselves. What should be done? Police officers should be paid more money and given more respect to make law enforcement worth their while and the courts should allow parents to exercise more authority in training their own children how to behave. The churches and schools should be free to reward good behaviors and punish negative behaviors under their authorities by ACTIVELY, discouraging violence, vices and promiscuity as they used to do by separating "the goats from the sheep." More fathers should take an active part in child-rearing and husbands and wives should get serious about their personal responsibilities to hold marriages and families together to make them work effectively by cleaning up their habits - stop buying drugs, cheating on their mates and live the exemplory lives they want their children to see and imitate to the best of their ability.

I'm just glad I live in a nice neighborhood. The neighbors are considerate. But just 15 miles from us, it's getting worse. More crime. It seems to be happening because the criminals are slowly escaping from the inner city. The city has torn down houses there to discourage them & chased them away. Guess where they went? Closer to us.
I just wish they would keep the criminals locked up & not let them out before they have served their time. These people are our own home-grown terriorist. I am concerned that we're not taking care to find solutions to this, as much as we are concerned with those outside our borders. If this is true, in the future, no one will be feeling safe in ANY neighborhood.

I feel as safe here as anywhere else really. Which isnt saying i would walk the streets alone at night. I keep my doors looked an my son near me at all times. I carry a knife, which i hope to NEVER use, but am willing too, I started carrying a knife back in indiana because of the dogs (actual dogs, the barking kind.) My home town had these tiny little crazy dogs running around, and i was willing to stab one if i needed too. Now i carry it because of the crazy people.

no, 10 years ago this could of been considered the safest neighborhood in small village U.S.A.
Unfortunately, it is still a very small village, but the teenage/young adult population has become worse and has a lot of drug issues..
It is still considered safe, but you have to lock your houses up when you leave for the day and cant leave anything outside unattended that is of any value..
I miss the are of 10 years ago..I will be moving within the next 5 years to the middle of nowhere , hopefully...

I don't feel safe. Although I grew up here, I haven't lived here for over ten years. I have mainly lived in small towns and in the country. What needs to be done to make me feel safer.... get rid of all the child molesters and rapists that live here... have people take care of their freakin hoodlum kids. Peace:)

no....every since the little kids got older they turned into trouble making punks, this used to be an extremely safe and clean neighborhood but its not like that anymore ...kids have to find something to do other than stealing bikes and setting things on fire...

No, it's the same. It's a good neighborhood. I'm glad I don't live in Phoenix where they have a shooter and a rapist on the loose.
