You should name your child what YOU like not your mom! You and your hubby should go with what you like.

I don't think there is anything wrong with the names you picked, I think they are very nice. You are the ones who will mostly be yelling and saying these names for the rest of your child's life. I only have one suggestion. Use the most common spelling of the names! Your child will have so much more of a hassle with spelling their name for people, always having their name misspelled or they will be disappointed in their name when they want a professional job (doctor, attorney, ect) So for a girl, go with Chloe or something, not what you listed above, please. Also, I like Xander or Zander better than Zaden. Do you like Zane?

You could just keep the first name starting with a Z ... Zachery Jacob? Zadaler Jacob? Zandaler Jacob? Zanders Jacob? Zellus Jacob? Zellar Jacob?
Ultimately, you should not worry what the other family members think ... make this a special time for you and your husband!
I'm partial to Zachery :)

I like the option of Zander Jacob... Its your child, not your mom's. And its a nice combo of unusual/traditional. Of course if you want to compromise you could always name the child Alexander Jacob, and call him Zander for short.

How about Jacob Braeden? (I love the name Jacob you should so keep it, its my baby brother's name, lol)

If you like unusual Z names:

Zacarias
Zacchaeus
Zachariah
Zacharias
Zachely
Zackery
Zaid
Zaine
Zale
Zamiel
Zeb
Zebediah
Zebedee
Zechariah
Zekeria
Zedekiah
Zev
Zimri
Ziven
Zorian
Zory
Zuriel

Just a couple of ideas!

When I was pregnant with my first child my Mom gave me some wonderful advice -- name your child what you want. So we picked first names that we really liked and reserved the middle names for a special family member or friend. This way the child has their own unique name and identity, but also has a link to someone we hold very dear.

Jacob is a cool middle name. That is what we used for my first son's middle name. My Mom's Dad was Ludwig Peter Jacob Mueller, so we used one of his names in remembrance of him. He died before I was born.

Best of luck!

Congratulations mom-to-be! First (and best) piece of advice I can offer you "mom-to-mom" - DO NOT listen to any advice from anyone in the next nine months (except for maybe the advice you'll get in this forum, duh). I think it's a GREAT IDEA to follow your family's tradition!! Zander Jacob is a cool name (and I don't usually like unusual names - I prefer the Robert, Keith, Kevin, Catherine, Laura, Mary kind of names). Anyway, pick a name you and your husband like and be done with it. You don't need family chirping in with their opinions. And, listen to me carefully, IF anyone comes up to you and starts telling you their labor story... run! Every pregnancy is DIFFERENT. Enjoy each and every moment of yours (even the morning sickness). This is going to be the most amazing time of your life. Congratulations and best wishes to you, your husband, and Zander!!

What about reversing and naming him Jacob Zander or Xaxier or something along those lines. Remember that you won't be able to please everyone when choosing a baby name. You should just make sure that you and your husband like the name.

I would shy away from the Z names unless you want him to get picked on a lot. Boy names are harder to think of. For a daughter I think Erieann would be an awesome name. Maybe Devon for a boy. Its not that original, but not that common either.

well to answer this question. who cares what they like. it's your child and your choice! they will love the child no matter what it is named. I was going to name my boy xander patrick, but since it's a girl It will be Haley Alexis. Some people in my family didn't like it at first but now they are ready for haley. the name don't even matter anymore they just want her.
