Yes.
If there was a draft- (and NOT an ALL VOLUNTEER ARMY) - there would be much more forethought and debate before we send our soldiers to war OR OTHER MISSIONS, especially after the Vietnam fiasco. An all volunteer military tends to have really itchy trigger fingers. It's too bad that most anti-war people don't understand that doing away with the draft only took their opinions out of the conflict and allowed the military to act without the added cost of having to deal with Conscientious Objectors.

We've had one before and I think it was very appropriate since I believe it's EVERY person's responsibility to stand up for this country that gives us so much freedom and modern life, but, so many shirkers ran from the draft and made up all kinds of excuses as to why they didn't have to serve, one person actually being a professional boxer who said he was a "non-violent" person after he "converted" to the muslim religion, and then went on beating people senseless for millions of dollars while he pursued his "non-violent" ways. I'd like to think that all our citizens would be as good a "team player" as possible so we didn't need conscription military, but we have too many self-centered, lying, shirkers, like the well known boxer I referenced above, that I can't see that happening. Maybe we ought to just deport all individuals who didn't show up voluntarily for the military service at age 18, but then we'd be having the moles resurrected again as they would run to Canada and Mexico to name two places they ran during the Vietnam war. Hey, maybe that would solve all our immigration and border security problems. God Bless our soldiers. God Bless you.
