Please, please don't try to make yourself go into labor unless it is recommended by your doctor for a valid reason. The child will come when it is time, and anything you try to do before that may harm the baby or yourself.

My midwife said the caster oil won't hurt the baby but in can put you in tons of discomfort. I used a very very tiny amount when I was so constipated I couldn't take it anymore. It was just 1/8 of a tsp. I woke up about 6 hours after taking with contractions that really hurt. I drank a ton of water and took a tylenol and after about two hours they went away. The worst part was I never did get the laxative effect. Watermelon ended up being my answer there.
I read that evening primrose oil is good to take and not dangerous at all. It helps the cervix ripen. Pineapple is also supposed to be great, you want to eat a ton of it. Oh, my midwife also said the nipple stimulation is good, but it's better if you use a hand held breast pump, not manual stimulation, because the manual doesn't often get the uterus contracting enough. Just be very careful, wait between two to five minutes between stimulation to make sure you don't over contract the uterus. Eating oregano is also supposed to help...thus the eggplant parm theory.
Good old fashioned walking, swaying the hips, water aerobics, etc are always safe and may help. My grandfather took my grams for a boat ride when she was due, that worked for them.
Who knows what any of these might really do to help, it may just be timing. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you, the time will come when that little girl comes into this world, it may seem like forever now but before you know it she will be walking, talking and getting into all sorts of trouble and you will think back on this day and laugh.

If your cervix is not dilated at all you will have a hard time inducing on your own, and will probably just frustrate (and maybe hurt) yourself. If your body is already preparing itself for birth, there are some natural techniques that may help speed the process. Sex will help, because semen helps to ripen the cervix. The cervadil gel doctors use to ripen your cervix is made with pig semen, you might as well use your husband's instead and have some fun in the process. You can also walk to help the baby lower and engage into your birth canal.

Walk
Have sex
My grandma always told me to go for a bumpy car ride
Have the doctor strip your cervix (he runs his finger along the inner rim of your cervix to detach the bag of water from it, without breaking your water)
Have sex some more. Orgasms produce contractions. The trick is getting the contractions to keep coming.

I walked around the park in the area. My Grandmother in law always said that she had drunl lemonde before her first and he popped right out. But only do any of this if you are close and your doctor says its ok.

ask your doctor about safe ways to stimulate labor. This is not a great place to ask!! besides, usually, the kid will come out when they are ready!!
