Selfishness. What is convenient for the self is most important to them. They only seem to respect the Rights of another human being if it is convenient to themselves.
What's more, Leftists have a need to establish state/legal ownership over their subjects. By denying the individual Rights of the unborn child, they drive a wedge between the child and the responsibilities of a Parent to nurture that child. They make the child an object of public ownership rather than sole responsibility of the parents.
Hillary's "It Takes a Village" is a step to progressively push the public toward accepting Communist-style ownerhship of children by the State.

I love it how the unbiased educated answers come out on these.
I'm a liberal and I'm going to give you a real answer. This is how I feel about abortion:
**I'm against abortion as a form of birth control. People who get pregnant because they failed to properly protect themselves should not get abortions.
**I believe children who are victims of rape/incest should be allowed the choice of an abortion. After being raped (sometimes by a father or other family member), I don't think it is morally right to force an underage female to carry a child that resulted from such.
**I believe women who are victims of rape should be allowed the choice of an abortion. Although I'm not personally sure if I would chose abortion, I've seen enough victims to know that the mental and physical stress of carrying a child that resulted from rape is pretty severe.
**I believe a woman should be allowed the choice of an abortion in the instance that her life is put in jeopardy by birthing the baby.
The problem with banning abortion, but allowing exceptions in the above circumstances is that I have not heard any realistic way to do it. How do you prove that is the reason? What if a young woman is date raped and finds she is pregnant and decides she doesn't want the baby? A lot of those cases are he said/she said. What if he says I didn't do it? Does she have to carry the baby? There are just too many issues. And then you will have women saying they were raped so they can get abortions. That opens up a whole new can of worms. Do you hold that against women with legitimate cases?
I don't think it's selfish to not want to carry a rapist's child. As far as the other comment about taking responsibility for their actions...so it's the rape victim's responsibility now. And liberals are selfish and unfeeling?
I think it's a decision that's very hard to make. Until someone can convince me that all these problems can be addressed, I can't agree to ban abortion.

i'm thinking you mean 'abortion'. my sister and i just had this big knockdown dragout fight over this issue over the phone. for me life doesn't begin at inception. if i had been aborted i would never have known or ever cared. to me life begins with self awareness. at least age 2 or 3 years old, my earliest memories go back to being about 5 years old. my mother had absolutly no obligation to continue allowing her body to be used as a baby factory once she learned she was pregnant with me. my spirit is divine. it will always be, and would have remained in tact, no matter what her decision might have been or was. a woman's right to decide what to do with her own body trumps the rights of any potential fetus, period. wanting to impose your moral standards on other women in this way is profoundly selfish.

Primarily because they believe women are always above the law. They also don't seem to have a problem when mothers kill their children. They all rush forward to make a bunch of excuses for her.
Plus, overall, liberals always believe that people are not responsible for their actions. There's always an environmental or societal factor that "made" them do it.

(assuming you mean abortion)
You're absolutely right. Children should be born and raised to die for George W Bush.
What are those pro-choicers thinking?
