AL- David Ortiz. Even if he is a DH and doesn't play in the field his offensive production and clutch performances at the plate are enough for him to with the MVP
NL- Albert Pujols. For the man to miss about a month due to injury and still lead the league in most offensive categories at the All Star Break is simply amazing. Not to mention he is a very solid defensive first baseman as well.
CY Young AL- Scott Kazmir. Sounds crazy that a pitcher for the Tampa Bay Devil Rays is probably the best starter of the first half. He became the all time career wins leader for a lefty in Tampa Bay with 13 total career wins earlier this season. He's added 9 more since then and doesn't look like he's letting up.
NL- Brad Penny. 10-2 with a 2.91 era. If he can repeat that type of play in the second half he could be a legitimate contender for the Cy Young award
AL Rookie of the year- Francisco Liriano. He'll probably struggle a little more in the second half, but I don't think that Justin Verlander can catch him for rookie of the year.
NL Rookie- Dan Uggla. He'll probably fall off a little bit too, but for a guy who never played anything higher than AA ball before making the team, he is having a great season.

AL- Ortiz
NL- Wright
I never understood the sentiment that a DH can't win the MVP. If Ortiz had been playing first, no one would be saying that his defense is aweful so he can't win it. Why is PLAYING defense the important qualification as opposed to playing good defense? This award has always been about offense. Defense is a tiebreaker, and no one is close to Papi's numbers.
NL- realistically, probobly Pujols wins it, If for no other reason than Wright and Reyes spliting the votes, and Pujols slipping in. But, I'm going to say because Pujols was out with an injury for an extended period of time, and Wright has been the picture of consistancy. Also, he has speed and borderline GG defense of the past few months (not early in the season, though).

AL: How can you go against Ortiz, he has helped the sox get out of so many games and he has been so consistant. I think that Mauer will fall off a little bit and it will be interesting to see Thome and Ortiz slug it out
NL: This is easy, Pujols. He was gone for three weeks and still is in the top 5 in the leauge in almost every offensive catagory

AL: David Ortiz ( even though I don't think a DH should win an MVP ) or Derek Jeter
NL: Albert Pujols ( no question ) or David Wright ( he's on fire )

AL:
David Ortiz. Currently leads the majors in home runs and runs batted in. Best clutch player in the majors. You EXPECT him to get a hit when it counts.
NL:
Albert Pujols. Third in homers, fourth in RBI's, even after being out more than a month. Most feared hitter in the NL.
