Within the penis are blood vessels that keep the tissues alive. Due to hormonal stimulation, the veins which return this blood have the ability to constrict, reducing the return of the blood to the body, causing the tissues of the penis to inflate (get hard). This most often happens during sexual arousal, but can occur at other times, particularly during puberty when hormones are at their peak in the male. It is completely normal, natural and healthy.

Like all lovers, it sounds like your lil fella and your hand have had a row. I'd suggest making your hand sleep on the sofa for a night and maybe buy your penis dinner or something. Another possibility is that after 4 years the "spark" has faded in their relationship, perhaps you could dress it up in some sexy lingerie to put the spice back. On a serious note, all guys masturbate, some more than others. Maybe cut down a little. It sounds like you've already spoken to your doctor about some of the problems.

no, sperm is not building up. You are being stimulated mentally by SOMETHING (sometimes in puberty they just happen)
but your penis gets hard from the build up of BLOOD in the blood vessels in your penis, NOT sperm build up. Erections are usually caused by stimulation of something visually exciting, or manual stimulation of something touching your penis.

The body self-regulates itself and you can get a spontaneous erection. Really embarrassing, especially when you have to get up in front of Frech class and a blind man couldn't miss that woody.
If you go long enough without sex or masturbation, the body will take care of it with a wet dream.

your penis gets hard because you are sexually aroused in one form or another. other times it happens just because which can be very annoying. an erection is simply blood sacs filling up in your penis which make it stiffen and lengthen. sperm builds up in your testes and then mixes with semen during ejaculation, so there is never really a "build-up" of sperm in your penis that would make it hard.

it is because men are visualy stimulated aswell as phisically. men can get up no matter what. girls cant get horney unless something phisical happens. it is a scientific fact.
