at this point u might as well make up what he said because that's what everyone else is doing. whatever, in ur brain, justifies zidane's actions... pretend that's what he said if it makes u happy. in the mean time, FORZA ITALIA!

Supposedly it was "la puta turque" or similar, which is roughly "son of a Turkish whore" or something like that.
The fact that Zidane is Armenian, and at the time of the game his mother was seriously ill, makes the comments even more repugnant.
Btw, from the footage it also looked like he gave Zidane a quick nipple squeeze--a harmless but painful and annoying move often used in sports (usually rugby) to aggravate an opposing player.
Zidande's booking was necessary and proper--but if the Italian player has even a shred of human decency he would have felt a profound sense of shame as he collected his winner's medal.
Sadly I doubt that was the case, as the sense of sportsmanship that has made football the most popular sport in the world seems to be sadly absent in Italy anymore--witness the current problems there.

in accordance to a lip reader Materazzi observed as Zidane's sister a whore. yet Zidane will supply a press convention in some days, I doubt even if he will move information although. inspite of punishment he receives he will not in any respect play for France again as this became his very last experience. If the punishments incorporates an outstanding, he's gonna ought to pay for sure.

Yes, according to news reports, professional lip readers interpreted something like that : "son of a terrorist." I felt sad about Zidane's action because what he did was a bad example, especially for kids from all over the world who look up to him as a sports hero. When you are a professional player, you have to control your feelings, especially in that level of game. But I also condemn the Italian "what's his name" for resorting to dirty tactics just to win the game. They know Zidane's weakness (his temper) and they exploited it to the hilt. Maybe what Zidane did eventually cost France the game. But for me, Italy does not deserve the Cup, too, because they got it, not because of football prowess but because of "street smart" tactics.

He talked smack, it dosn't matter what he said as it ment nothing past words. He didn't threaten him or his family, may have talked bad about both but if some one says "Tua madre" you don't head butt them for it, you say it back, prefferably after you've won the game.
