Just because someone subscribes to a particular philosophy, liberalism for example, doesn't mean that they agree with everything the "fringe liberals" talk about. I, for example, am a moderate/liberal.
I am pro-life, in the strictest sense, probably more so than a lot of conservatives. Being pro-life to me means conception until death, not conception until birth.
Just because someone doesn't believe in a higher power is no reason to write them off as immoral. I've known a few atheists in my life, and found most to be more compassionate and accepting than a lot of the church-going Christians I know.

I wish instead of being anti-abortion or pro-choice people would spend their time and resources on educating the world on safe-sex practices. No one really thinks abortion is a good thing. But until the world is given the information and affordable birth control (and access to this birth control) abortions are a reality. Lets not pick each other apart as to who is corrct- lets just work together to make abortions unnecesary.

Love your alias, Briseis. i imagine the position we've all lengthy gone off objective is in linking non secular perception to the abortion controversy. they are 2 diverse issues, for sure, yet because the Roman Catholic Church formally denounces abortion as a sin, we've come to imagine of the issue totally in non secular words. I genuinely have in no way been affiliated with any prepared faith, nor am I formally an atheist; I opt to judge not (that I be not judged, for sure). I genuinely have continually supported the theory that a lady's proper to make your ideas up on no matter if to abort a fetus or not ought to not be a remember of public regulation, coverage or politics. it really is a private remember, between a lady, her well being care service, her substantial different and her religious consultant--if any. So, lengthy answer shortened, Christians are not all professional-life and Secularists (love that element period!) are not all professional-decision.

What difference does it make? Pro-life is pro life and pro-choice is pro-choice.
I think atheist have even more grounds to object to abortion than theist... to them, this life is all anyone ever gets.

That's not a big deal, just because a person lacks faith in Jesus does not mean that he or she supports murder.
