lol...build your house from blueprints obtained from Home Depot...Brick is a really good choice...lasts forever against wind, rains, snow, and big bad wolves.

I think I would suggest building it from 'the bottom up'...hehehe...
I would have said from the 'ground up'.. but that might have an unpleasant ring to it, to anyone living in a 'pig stye', lol
Besides, you might want to install a storm shelter, or basement. ;)
Brick used to be considered the strongest... but there are many new technologies today that were not options, perhaps, when your 'brothers' built their homes. Sprayed concrete, interlocking foam concrete forms (not only do they provide the form for the concrete, but they help insulate it from any wind and cold!), steel frame... heck... even wood frame houses can be built with modern technology, to help withstand high winds, and shifting ground, by using hurricane ties, 'earthquake' straps, and engineered structural components.
So, I would suggest first deciding on what all you want IN the house, as features.... get an idea of what kind of layout you like.... and go from there. =D

You're going to need sticks, as a reinforcement..
and most certainly will need the straw.. mix that with mud, and make your own bricks!
Seriously, check this out..

Definitely watch out for the wolf..

HAVENT YOU HEARD??? YOU DON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT THE "BIG BAD WOLF" ANYMORE. HE MADE BIG ON
THE STOCK MARKET YEARS AGO. SO HE GAVE UP THAT OLD GIG. NOW HE LIVES IN A MANSION WITH PEOPLE AT HIS BECK AND CALL, 24 HOURS A DAY.
SO YOU CAN MAKE YOUR HOUSE OUT OF ANYTHING NOW.
OR JUST CAMP OUT IN THE WILD IF YOU LIKE!!!!!

Use clay...if you blend it just right, you can make your house into a dome-shape. And it'll harden!
