They are being spoiled by producers but stars have a lot of bargaining power because they are essentially what fill the seats in the movie theaters. However i think that a real actor would act in whatever role would be effective to the audience regardless of the money they were being paid. Actors that get paid on a scale still get paid a decent amount. This is why our ticket prices at the movie theaters are almost 10 bucks a piece. It stinks.

the clarification why they receives a fee a lot, is because everybody in the movie marketplace opt to be loaded. The movie directors know that in the experience that they have a usual megastar of their movie, extra people will go and word their movie. ie: they get extra money. for this reason if the actor that they prefer, needs to receives a fee $20 million for pratically doing not some thing, then the movie director ought to pay that a lot because they can make more advantageous than $20 million as a results of the undeniable fact that individual is in the movie. I agree that people who help others ought to extremely get the extra money, yet maximum of those are in no way in the limelite.

You don't understand economics.
Ask the question this way:
If a big box office draw will bring in an additional $100 million in revenue for a given movie, why wouldn't the producer pay that actor $20 million to be in it?

I would agree with most of the others. I believe the high salary does offset some of the unpleasantries, such as papparazi and long work hours. (TV actors especially on sci fi shows can work 10 hour days without a day off). They are entirely overpaid however and shouldn't be making that much. Isn't 1 or 2 million enough?

They absolutely deserve the money... when a movie makes $300 million, don't you think that the main reason people saw the movie should get most of that money? It's the same with sports. No one is going to see anyone but the atheletes...of course they deserve the lion's share of the revenue!

They don't deserve it. (Yes they work crazy long hours but so do doctors and lawyers.)
BUT they get paid that 20 million because the company will bring in extra profits, MORE than the 20 million.
Demand and supply.
Would you pay a fast food cashier $20 an hour? No way, unless that cashier is so good, he makes every customer want to buy from him and brings in extra profits.
Same idea.

Yes I think so because for an example Johnny Depp makes that kind of money for Pirates of the Caribbean movies. Besides he is a good actor.

They don't deserve it, because they don't contribute anything extraordinarily valuable to society.
Everybody buys food. There are certainly millions of dollars being pumped into the canned food industry each year. Why aren't the farmers wealthy? Maybe if the stores charged 6.50 for a can of green beans...

Look how much the movie grosses in it's first month alone. Then you have DVD buyers and rentals. What do you think? If a movie grosses over 300million. Simple math bro. Not saying it's fair but they earn it. People pay for the experience.

They are being paid so much because big names attract people to theatres creating lots of money for the producers. It is only fair they get paid so much if they draw so many people. If you don't like it don't go to the movies (atleast not ones with big name stars)
