I was in LA and we pulled up next to this limo at a stop light. the window was rolled down and Mel Gibson was sitting there. i was just kind of staring because i couldn't look away and he looked up and waved at me. i waved back in a daze and then light turned green and we drove away. my family still doesn't believe me.

Also when i was in Hawaii, we went to see the Bryan brothers, the #1 tennis doubles mens team in the world. and we were in this shop renting rackets so we could go to the clinic that started soon. my mom turned around and said, "oh my god." because the bryan brothers were sitting like 3 feet away from us putting their shoes on. my mom was like, "oh can i take a picture?" and they were really nice and said, "yeah." and that's how it went.

OMG I was at Ringo's concert in 2003... in the middle of "Photograph" I stood up and waved a peace sign... he pointed and waved one back!!! I fell down screaming!!!

THREE MORE DAYS TILL I SEE HIM AGAIN!!!!!

I've also met some lesser celebrities at songwriting conferences. I was at one a few years ago and heard Harry Chapin's daughter woould be performing there. Well, I went to a workshop, sat down next to a woman in a red halter top, we said hi and everything... then when the workshop started, we were introducing ourselves. She said "I'm Jen Chapin, I'm 26 years old..." and I'm like "OMG!!!". I'm in a group called the Local United Network to Combat Hunger that was inspired by the works of Harry Chapin, so we get to see his family all the time. I've also met people at other workshops: Jack Hardy, Alan Roy Scott, Steve Gillette. I get pictures taken with them and have some at http://www.myspace.com/katwyand .

Once I was at a tennis match and had reserved seats in the south end so I wouldnt have to turn my head to watch the match. Well Billie Jean King came in with a camera crew to film the match and made me move. Then I got to go to lunch with her. I still hate I had to move, but it was great talking with her.

I had to sit next to Kurt Cobain on an airplane flight. I pretended like I didn't know who he was and complained that I couldn't understand the lyrics on a Nirvana CD. He told me what they meant so I bought him some drinks.
