The jews have so far killed 50 people (according to the BBC) in Lebanon, as well as dozens more in Gaza. They are also bombing Lebanon's infrastructure and the situation threatens to cause a wider conflict. Do you think the three captured soldiers would want any of this?

Governments find any excuse to fight or threaten others with acts of war.
Here's a list
1. Weapons of Mass Destruction=invasion of the supposed WMD user or holder. Can't find WMD but occupy the country and claim to build a Democracy even if citizens on either side do not agree with the government's or military action.
2. Launching nuclear missles=sanction the nuclear holder and punish the ordinary people with sanction, although they are not directly responsible. If the people protest and launch nuclear missles than the navy is called in.
3. Terrorist attack=indiscriminately punish and constantly point a finger to the community where the terrorist originated from. Scrunitize the community to the point the parents of the terrorists and other community members feel ashamed to be out in public and risk harrassment by angered victims or citizens who had experience a terrorist attack.

Blame others for your actions does not work it only creates anger. But it is equally unfair to point finger at one side of the troubles. Israel is equally wrong to invade a country and improverished territory just to free three people just as Hamas and Hezbullah were wrong for kidnapping the Israeli soldiers.

If it were just 3 soldiers, that would be a different story. This is another action by a terrorist group against Israel, whom they've been attacking over the years. Lebanon either will not, or cannot handle their own country, so Israel has to do it for them. The infrastructure Israel is bombing are travel routes, trying to hinder transport of the captive soldiers. Israel is only looking out for #1.

Given the chance, Syria, Iran, and Hezbollah would wipe Israel off the map. Perhaps you don't care about that, but you would do well to learn the history of that region before declaring that the whole thing is only about three soldiers.

It's not about the 3 soldiers. It's politics. It's about showing who is the boss and who is stronger and who is more powerful.

You know how men are, no one really wants to back down from a fight and be called a coward. We rather show them what's up.

They have a little thing called honor. Their soldiers fight for what they believe in and their government wants to protect them. The people they are fighting lack honor and fight for a religion that condones killing anyone who does not believe in their "God". I say in order for them to keep their honor as a country they at the very least should react to this aggression. They started the war by taking them prisoner and Israel plans to finish it.

This goes well beyond the three soldiers. The ones they fight are terrorist and need the heavy hand of the world to crush them.
