We painted a canvas black and were hot glueing them to the canvas, but when you stick them on the glue makes a darker spot in the middle of the shell, and kinda screws it up..... anyone have a good idea to fix the problem???

see the shells are kinda see through so any glue i would think is gonna make a dark area, unless you cover the entire shell in glue..... maybe that's a thought

If you're using acrylic paint on the canvas, you can use acrylic gel as a glue. It dries clear & will stay stuck to the paint. The best is Golden High Solid Gel - it shrinks less than any other gel, and I've used it to adhere found objects onto paintings.

Have you tried Gorilla Glue?
