You should be paid for the time you spend at work driving included, unless you agreed to that. Take it up with them, but you will need to be ready to find another job. If they can't take care of their employees any better than that you need to leave.

seems like there may be legal questions here... if you worked 17 and 3/4 hours then that is what you should get paid for if you get an hourly wage. If your boss won't reimburse you for travel, you can use gas and mileage as a tax deduction.

I think you are being taking advantage of. You should be compensated in some way for driving from one work site to another.

I don't know what you do exactly, but it sounds like you should be reimbursed for travel. You should be able to work something out with your employer.
