Is this REALLY a Q & A station or is it permissable to chat?

It is a question and chat forum; however, if you find someone whose opinion you find interesting, you can always email them and ask them if they have any objection to establishing a more one on one discussion of that or different issues. One place that you might be interested in looking in to is Just a Chat at http://www.justachat.com/. Its has chat lines for kids, adults, etc. Some of them even have private rooms - they are nice because sometimes you find yourself on a chat line with 15 plus people and just want to talk to one or two so you can go into a private locked chat room to do that. I even do it with my daughter because its cheaper than long distance phone calls. Problem with chat lines is that you may want to chat with someone that is in a different country/time zone than you so trying to coordinate a time when you can both meet is difficult. Blogs are okay but usually result in a delayed response depending on when someone gets around to reading and responding to them. Instant Messaging is great too but requires the other person be on line at the same time you are. I have contact with people in a number of countries and its really not that hard to coordinate a time to get online with them. We typically email each other to say...is 2:00pm my time (whatever) you time on say Monday okay? Sometimes it takes several emails back and forth to get a good time for both but it works and is well worth the time - I've met some wonderful people online and am sure you will too.

I would like to think of this as Q & A.
To me that's what it implies! That what I percieved it to be, when I chose to start this.
But I do get weary at all the people who come on to chat and want to email people.
Aren't there enough chat rooms out there for this kind of thing!
