Here's a not so hypothetical question for you. As we should all be aware, oil production is beginning to go into decline, with alternatives looking less viable than the happy-crowd thinks, and as a result, life will get more difficult - rather sooner than later, as we are told. This would mean the beginning of the end of civilization as we know it (American style, suburban living, commuting with heavy vehicles which require fossil fuels, an ever-growing economy linked to an ever-increasing consumption of goods and energy, recreational air travel for the masses, and tropically hot home interiors in winter thanks to heaps of burnt fuel). Now here's the question:
There are those among us who are weary of that civilization as it is, and who might want to see it end - not necessarily out of environmental concern, but simply out of boredom? Are you like that?

No I wouldn't care, IF civilization as we know it became more civilized and more free with respect , responsibility and respiration for all.
Furthermore if civilization would have less of an ecological footprint that would make me happy.

Civilization will cease because of the people, it is inevitable. It will be our own fault. The decision would be up to to the people on how we use transportation and our way of life. We humans become reckless with each generation. I think it will cease soon (soon as in 100-150 years) if humans do not change the way we live right now. We already have a huge hole in the o zone layer, and glaciers and polar ice caps are melting, rise in sea levels, deadlier weathers. I think before civilization ceases many lives will be taken harshly, very HARSHLY. Before the end it will be 10X Hurricane Katrina's. Also there could be a astroid but, nothing we can do about that. But i think that civilization will cease before an (astroid/metero/comet/ watever is the biggest) hits.

Hmmmm properly the various definitions of what makes a civilization continuous, yet in case you're saying a distinct political equipment and modify in how issues are run then you definately both say the former civilization ended and all started a sparkling era or purely say its nevertheless continuous. yet in case you're saying its continuous then that ought to ought to drop the call the worlds oldest civilization because then that ought to bypass to the Egyptians who're a procedures older and grander in scale the whole pyramids were outfitted before writing became presented in China. The Egyptians even made the first mechanical robotic in Alexandria, and batteries. they quite dwarfed the international for thousands of thousands on years, and civilization under no circumstances led to Egypt it purely change leaders and faith. so that you've faith the chinese to be a procedures more desirable civilization yet I guess in case you traveled the international and observed different peoples historic accomplishments you may be quite humbled

Civlization must not end and people must continue to find ways to preserve mankind. If oil is diminishing and there will be shortage, everybody should think of another source of energy to run our cars and machines. I believe that there are people who care for this objective. Let us continue to improve and let this earth be a better place to live.

If civilization were to cease, because of environmental concern. it would not bother me in the least remember live your life as if there is no tomorrow, and confide in the Lord almighty that he is the only way out of the mess men had created, I, for one always say my prayers before I go to sleep, and ask God to light my way to his throne if it is my time to go.

I am a person who feels the world would probably be destroyed before we let civilization end. Nuclear strikes and war for resources would happen before we let energy problems stop us so most likely we'll destroy the planet before we lose civilization.
