Disconnect the positive cable from the battery and touch it to the negative post of the battery for about 30 seconds (make sure you unhook the positive cable and not the other way around or you will get a bunch of sparks). This will reset the codes stored in the computers memory, however, if the problem has not been corrected, the light will come back on.

Fix whatever problem turned the light on. It will go off by itself when the problem is corrected.
You may well need to have a mechanic capture the failure codes from the on-board computer and then diagnose the actual cause based on the failure code.

Disconnect the battery overnight. This will clear the sensor readings. But whichever sensor is causing the light to come on will make the light come back on whenever it's triggered

If the light stays on and dont reset itself. after a few drive cycles, its a hard fault it might not or probly will not go out ,you need to scan for codes ,or pin point the problem to find out.

Take it to Autozone. They will check it for free to find out what is wrong and they will reset it. But.....it will come back on if the problem is not corrected.
