Dude, 888 is not an area code. 888 is one the few numbers reserved for domestic free calls like 800. Just because you get a call from an 888 number, you can't tell where is it physically located.

It's just another 800 number...they ran out of 800 numbers and are now using 888 and 887.

that's not a area code that's a toll free code when you have a 888 telephone number its a free call (but you can not just put that in front of just any number)

Don't dial it until you find out !!! It may be one of those charge numbers and you will be robbed...
The Phone company can tell you about the numbers that do this. They are usually from the caribbean and they charge you 5 dollars a minute and you have to pay it because you called it.
